So this is what you guys warned me about, huh. [Someone seems kind of put out. And maybe a tiny bit shaken. And bruised, but she's ignoring that. She's got a guitar in her lap, but she's just holding it there, not playing.]

I don't get how you can just - shoot someone and--

No, sorry, we don't need more of that. [She leans forward and fiddles at the computer, and in the background Pocket Fulla Sunshine is now playing quietly. Then she leans back in her chair again, hands on the guitar.]

I painted my dog's nails to this, once. Best waste of a Saturday night ever. [But she shakes her head a little, waving a hand.] I'd serenade you guys, if I knew anything serenade worthy...You know, I could seriously use some Starbucks right now, and I know, I'm dating my generation really hideously with that but sometimes a mocha frappe really brightens a day. Or a week. Especially one like this has been.

Did you know they make alcoholic whip cream? It tastes kind of like bad maple syrup. ....Which I know only through hearsay, of course, I mean obviously. [Have a look that is totally innocent but also says lol not really.] I wonder if there's any in the pub. I bet that in some coffee would be a great pick-me-up.

[She starts strumming the guitar. Nothing really magical, just a chord or two or three in no particular order.] So do new people come in every month? I mean, it's starting to seem like that, but Jesus, how have we not hit overcrowding yet?

[He furrows his brow, confused by the sudden severity...]

I...I guess so...y-yea...'Course you can, Olive...

Okay, cool, I'll be right there. [Seriously she is coming at quite the clip.]

[He gives a weak grin, turning of his comm. and setting it on a table near by, content to wait the five seconds it'll take her to get there from the other room...assuming she was in her cabin.]

[She was, and manages to cut it down to three seconds. Running is so much easier when you're not wearing stilettos, God. But very shortly she is rapping on Johnny's door.]

[He's busy trying to make his hair look somewhat presentable to a pretty girl like you when you knock on his door (as usual). He discards his comb on the bed, pulling the door open with a weak grin.]

Hey there Olive...

[There is no hey, how are you, or hand shake, because it is way more important to just hug him now. She'll be awkward later. Or in like a minute, but who's counting.] I think you're a hero.

E-eh!

[Oh my God, what is this. What are hugs, what are girls, what is any of this. o-o

[He's frozen, standing there like...like some big dork, that's what! He has no idea how to react to this...]

O-olive...?

[He swallows hard, feeling his arms twitch a bit before he's able to slowly hug back, eyes still wide.]

O-oh golly...G-golly Olive...th-thanks...

[Why is everyone so weird about hugs, they are just hugs damnit. :c But she waits till he hugs her back, then squeezes a little tighter and puts her hands on her shoulders.] You were trying to help. Most people call that heroic, okay?

[He gives a weak laugh, resting his head on her shoulder for a minute there.]

Guess there ain't much of a point in arguin' with you...huh...

[She smiles, juuust a little bit.] Nope. Because I'm right. The sooner you accept that the better off we'll be. [Joking makes errything better. :c]

[Well it does help. D: He even cracks a smile, pulling away from her and crossing his arms over his chest with a tiny little nod.]

Oh yea, yea. Keep talkin'...

[A pause, and he grinds his foot into the floor a bit, biting down on his lip nervously.]

M'glad you think so, though...

Well I'm glad I know a hero. But I think maybe I'll stop harping on that if...you come try and get a beer with me.

[He furrows his brow a bit, a bit skeptical, but smiling nonetheless.]

A beer, huh? Guess I could use one...

I'd say so. [But she's still smiling a little, and pulling a t his arm. TO THE PUB.]

[Hohkay! :D

[Man, you really do know how to cheer him up. You've got him grinning and even laughing as he follow close behind.]

[HAH. SUCCESS. And at the pub she is...stepping aside to let him open the door.]

I...left my Item in my room. [On purpose. :|]

[Item...? What...item? OH. Oh, the item...duh.]

O-oh! Right...

[Luckily, Johnny almost always keeps his paperback copy of 'Gone With the Wind' with him. It takes him a few seconds to figure out just what he's supposed to do with it, but before long the door swings open and he steps aside, waiting for her to go first.]

[Huzzah! Olive...really hates carrying her Item around. She's considered trying to get it changed from the vibrator, but that would be like letting it win. And she can't do that. So instead she walks in and heads for the bar.]

So, what's your pleasure?

Oh, just a beer, I guess. Ain't really had much else...

Yeaaah me neither. [She's pausing to stare at the bar, and shakes her head.] It's actually...kind of daunting.

Y-yea...never really been in a bar before...

My buddy Two-bit, he used to bring us beers. Guy drank a lot, but he was a pretty good ol' fella...

Dally'd bring 'em to us too sometimes...to me and Pony, I mean...

I settled for going to parties I didn't really want to be at. Where did you guys come up with those names?

[His brow furrows, and he wrinkles up his nose a bit.]

Golly, Olive, what'd make you go to a party you didn't wanna be at? Seems awful goofy...

Wasn't us who came up those names. Ponyboy's own dad named him that. He's even got a brother named Sodapop!

Oh, you know. My friend Rhi drags - well, she used to drag me to them a lot. Normal, social interaction and all that. I was meeting the quota.

...Now you're just screwing with me. [She is getting them both glasses of...whatever's on tap.]

I swear! Ponyboy and Sodapop Curtis! Says so on their birth certificate 'n everything! Got an older brother, Darry, too. Darrell, that is.
